CLIENT AGREEMENT & TERMS OF SERVICE

Welcome to Pawsticcerie Pet Grooming & Boutique! By booking or receiving any service, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to the following Terms of Service. Selecting or confirming a service online, by phone, or in person constitutes full acceptance of this agreement.

1. General Information

Pawsticcerie provides professional pet grooming and boutique services. Our priority is your pet’s safety, comfort, and well-being.

2. Appointment & Scheduling Policies

All services must be scheduled in advance. Same-day appointments are subject to availability.

Cancellations or reschedules must be made at least 24 hours in advance. Cancellations within 24 hours or no-shows will incur a fee up to 100% of the booked service. Two last-minute cancellations within 12 months will require full prepayment for future appointments.

Clients arriving more than 5 minutes late may have services shortened or rescheduled, which will be treated as a late cancellation. Please notify us immediately if you are running late.

Pets should be dropped off within 5 minutes of the appointment start time. Owners will receive a text notification when their pet is nearly ready. Pets must be picked up within 5 minutes of notification; late pickups incur a $1 per minute fee.

3. Grooming Frequency & Coat Maintenance

Certain coat types require consistent grooming to maintain health and appearance:


- Premium Cuts: every 2 weeks (alternating Bath & Comb and Full Cut)
- Teddy Bear / Long Hair Cuts: every 4–6 weeks

If excessive matting occurs, dematting fees of $12 per 15 minutes beyond the first 15 minutes apply. Severe matting may require a shorter cut for your pet’s comfort and safety.

By booking these styles, you agree to maintain your pet’s grooming schedule and acknowledge that unmaintained coats may require shaving or additional fees.

4. Health & Safety

Pre-Existing Conditions: Pawsticcerie is not responsible for aggravation of pre-existing medical or skin conditions during grooming.

Veterinary Release: In the event of a medical emergency, Pawsticcerie will attempt to contact the owner immediately. If unreachable, we reserve the right to seek veterinary care at the owner’s expense, except where injury is directly caused by our negligence.

Medical Conditions & Vaccinations: Owners must disclose all known medical issues, allergies, or behavioral concerns, any history of aggression or anxiety, and current vaccinations (Rabies required; Bordetella and DHPP recommended). Failure to disclose relevant information may result in immediate termination of service.

Parasites or Contagious Conditions: Pets with fleas, ticks, lice, mange, ringworm, or open wounds will be refused service. If discovered mid-groom, the session will stop, and a partial fee (up to 100%) will be charged.

5. Behavior & Handling

We use gentle, fear-free handling techniques at all times. If a pet shows extreme stress or aggression, we may pause or stop the session. Muzzles, restraints, or shorter sessions may be used if necessary for safety. If grooming is unsafe to continue, a partial fee will still apply.

Owners must disclose any history of aggression. Pawsticcerie is not responsible for injuries caused by undisclosed behavioral issues.

6. Liability & Risk Acknowledgment

General Risk: Grooming tools are sharp and involve dryers, clippers, and water. Minor nicks, irritation, or skin sensitivity may occasionally occur.

Matting Risks: Matted coats can cause severe discomfort, skin damage, and infections. Dematting may reveal hidden sores or cause temporary irritation. Shaving may be necessary to protect the pet’s health.

Medical Emergencies: Pawsticcerie may authorize emergency care by a licensed veterinarian if the owner cannot be reached. The owner is financially responsible unless injury is directly caused by Pawsticcerie’s negligence.

Owner Responsibility: Owners agree that all information provided is accurate, and they will promptly update Pawsticcerie on any changes to their pet’s health or temperament.

7. Payment & Fees

Accepted Payments: Cash, Debit, Credit Cards, Apple Pay, Google Pay. Credit Card Fee: 2.65% + $0.10 per transaction (3.5% + $0.15 if keyed-in). Sales Tax: New Jersey 6.625% applies to all services. Debit cards are exempt from surcharge per NJ law. Payment is due upon service completion.

8. Photo & Media Release

Pawsticcerie may take photos or videos of pets during or after grooming for marketing, training, or social media. By booking, you grant Pawsticcerie a royalty-free license to use these images unless you opt out in writing before your appointment.

9. Arbitration & Governing Law

Any dispute will be resolved through binding arbitration under New Jersey law. You waive the right to a trial by jury and any participation in class actions. This agreement constitutes the entire understanding between Pawsticcerie and the client.

10. Agreement Confirmation

By proceeding with booking, you confirm that you:


✅ Are the lawful owner or authorized agent of the pet.
✅ Have read and understood all terms and conditions.
✅ Agree that Pawsticcerie is not liable for injury, illness, or conditions not caused by negligence.
✅ Authorize Pawsticcerie to make all necessary handling and care decisions during your pet’s appointment.
